Considering Pinterest is such a (supposedly) reputable company, I am actually stunned by how unprofessional the whole process was. First, I was approached by a recruiter on LinkedIn, who after a short screening call was happy enough to send me to the first team interview with another partner manager. The PM seemed stressed at the start and actually had to take a 5 minute "refreshment" break during my 30 minutes with him.. when he got back he didn't seem particularly interested in me but more in the company I was working for at the time. This was probably because he felt that it could help him with his own job in the future. While he did ask some questions about my skills and product knowledge, he also asked questions that turned out to be completely irrelevant. Overall, he seemed happy enough though and I so didn't think too much of the odd parts. Unfortunately, I was essentially ghosted then and only heard back from the recruiter when I contacted the PM from the interview directly on LinkedIn. The feedback from the recruiter was that the PM had thought that I wasn't suitable for the role but that I should look at an account manager role. Meanwhile, I also got an email with materials to prepare for the partner manager pitch. Therefore, I of course thought that I am still in the race for the PM position after all and so I thoroughly prepared for the pitch. However, I was then informed that the email with the pitch materials had been sent by error. When I complained about this, I was basically told that I should have concluded that from the recruiters other email in the first place. When I complained more and said that I only wanted the PM role, (after a lot of waiting) I was then offered another interview with the PM's team lead. Although his job was just to explain to me in more detail why I wasn't suitable for the role as PM, he actually seemed very kind and professional and ended up offering me to interview for a more senior account manager role. When the recruiter asked if I was happy with that, I confirmed. Sadly, this is where this pitiful story ends as I have been ghosted again since....

Professional but easy going. They asked a lot about my education and problem solving examples. They did not focus on my marketing background because they trained all there employees very well.
