Great initial call with the recruiter. Spoke again the next week, he said I had strong experience and based on my questions about the role, he would get more details on responsibilities and supporting team and circle back. Never heard from him again despite multiple follow-ups. I work in HR and it's very odd for a recruiter to blow off someone in their own function - it's a small market / everyone knows each other so usually they are very conscientious and responsive. Poor candidate experience especially since phone screen was positive. From reading other recent reviews, sounds like this has happened to a few People team candidates. This has definitely tainted my perception of Pinterest.

Hi there, We want to thank you for giving us this feedback. Though it's hard to hear that your candidate experience was less than stellar, we appreciate your taking the time to let us know so that we can be across-the-board excellent going forward. We will take your recount back to the team and reiterate how important follow-through is, even if answers aren't immediately clear. Best of luck in your search, and we hope you'll give us another chance to provide you a great interaction with Pinterest next time you're interested in a role.

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 5 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Pinterest en févr. 2017

      Entretien

The recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn to gauge my interest in a role on their people team. I had a great intro call with the recruiter, and then with the Head of the team. The recruiter reconnects after I reach out 5 days after the initial interview with the Head of the team to tell me they will know next steps the following week. Two days later the recruiter invites me to SF for an onsite, I respond over the weekend with my availability. 10 days past and I still have not heard back from the recruiter. On the 11th day and after I reached out- the recruiter mentions that maybe I need to have another video call before coming out- asks my availability and tells me he will get back in touch. I respond immediately. 7 days past- still no response from the recruiter- I follow up. Recruiter responds 3 days later saying - actually maybe we can do an in person. I state I have an offer. 5 days later, the recruiter responds and asks how long I could wait on the offer because I'm their top candidate- I respond a few weeks. Recruiter responds stating they would be ready to bring me on site. I respond 3 days later- ask to align on compensation before moving forward, and what the entire process could entail so that I could slow role my offer. Recruiter ghosts me. This was the most unprofessional interview experience ever. I understand that processes speed up and slow down, but the lack of professionalism and transparency from one HR person to another is unacceptable.

Hi there--- we really regret that your process with Pinterest wasn't smoother. You should have been given clearer and more prompt information, especially if you had another offer to weigh. Our goal in Recruiting is to be as transparent and communicative along the way as possible, but it sounds like that was a miss here. We'd love to have the opportunity to get more feedback from you so that we can take it back to our team and make the candidate experience stronger overall.
