Entretien
I interviewed for the Digital Energy Specialist role within the DigiOps department at Octopus Energy. Recruitment was handled by Instant Impact and I worked with Laura throughout the recruitment process. First off was an informal chat about me and why I was interested in working with Octopus and the ES role specifically. After this, I was invited to a Discovery Day that comprised a group task, Q&A and one-to-one interview. The group task consisted of a few customer service scenarios, research and presentation tasks. A lot of information was provided in advance so I knew what to expect for these. We worked in a group of three with an Octopus assessor watching over as we worked. The assessor provided really good feedback as we were working which was encouraging. I thoroughly enjoyed the group task with my favourite part being the designing of a potential new partnership. This was a really creative task that lets you think outside the box to conjure up ways to not only help existing customers but encourage people to be more active in a new approach to energy. The Q&A was really enjoyable. Getting to learn about so many different aspects of Octopus was so helpful to understand the ways of working and culture. My question was about a complex situation that they have had to deal with and it was answered with a lot of detail and in a way that made me feel like I would be supported if I found myself in the same situation. Both of the speakers were really friendly and provided useful and effective answers to the questions. In the one-to-one interview, the questions were engaging and I felt like they prompted me to speak about my experience, knowledge of Octopus, and my desire to work for Octopus. It was informal and chatty which I found put me at ease. The rest of the day (group task and Q&A) was a nice way to lead into this interview. The interview really made me put my experience into the context of working for Octopus, allowing the interviewer to learn more about me and also allowing me to see how I could solve problems in a creative way at Octopus. Overall, the day was really enjoyable and I had a great time. This was followed up with an interview with two team leaders from the DigiOps team. This again was really informal and was both about making sure I was a good fit for them, but also that they were a good fit for me. The interview flew by and I was offered the position during the interview.

Entretien
I Interviewed for the Digi Ops role. I didn't recieve the same level of interaction from my person at instant impact but did feel like they were attentive. Quite a lengthy process and as others have said its important to schedule around work commitments, I had to take time off to complete certain stages. Discovery day is really nice, getting to know potential colleagues was fun and the exercises made it so we can all show the best part of ourselves in out groups.

Always kept up to date on the next stages, the recruitment team were kind and helpful and provide lots of helpful information for your research as long as you do your research you will do great. The Discovery Day you meet lots of different people and get to do a couple group activities based on real customer service and invent a new product/ service or partnership then after this you’ll do a one on one interview if you pass this stage you have a final 30 minute chat - everyone is so lovely and encouraging throughout every stage.

There was an initial phone conversation to gauge your knowledge of the company, followed by a discovery day to build more on this and meet your prospective team members. You also get to meet other employees from Octopus and learn more about the company. It was really engaging and you are given room to completely be yourself
