JD didn't say current use of Java is required. Recruiter insisted I didn't need recent Java experience and that this role was they best role for me that I applied to. However, the HM stated that Java is absolutely required. It seems impossible to get to an actual onsite in Netflix since recruiters aren't aligned with the JD and the HM.

Very challenging and involved. Interviewers will drill down on knowledge to see how much you know in pretty much every round. Interviewers are tough, especially on technical rounds. Recruitment can have spotty communication, and because of their setup you can do well in on site and not receive an offer ultimately if they prefer a different candidate. Team matching isn't really a thing and you kind of end up screwed.
