Applied online using the LinkedIn button. The recruiter was super cool. I was able to speak about my experience, and he said I sounded like a shoe-in for the position.
When I spoke to the hiring manager, he asked me a bunch of vague questions and didn't really seem to know what he wanted for the role. When I mentioned I applied for the interview and didn't get contacted by a recruiter, the interview turned for the worse. I could immediately tell he was done with me.
At the end of the interview, he said he wanted to be transparent and told me I failed the interview, and he would not be moving forward. he asked if he could tell me how I answered the questions incorrectly, and I declined.
This was interview number 6 in my current loop and was by far the worst, and I've been through real meat grinders. I think the vagueness and the immediacy of rejection really killed it. Yikes.
