The entire recruitment process was handled by a partnered recruitment firm, Pareto Law. So this review is probably more a review of Pareto's recruitment process than internal Oracle Netsuite processes.
After being contacted through LinkedIn about a good opportunity, I was called for an unexpected phone interview (so be on the lookout for that call - if you're not prepared, simply request to be called again). After passing through the phone interview, I was sent a form to fill (application form), which was about 3 pages, with basic information with about 3/4 competency questions - nothing difficult.
About a week after sending back the form, you are called/emailed that you have been successful, and the client (Oracle) has approved your application. You are then invited to an assessment centre in one of Oracle's offices, Reading or London.
This is where things go a bit...different. Unlike other companies, especially those of the company's size, travel expenses for assessment centres are reimbursed, but this one was not (again, this is probably because it was Pareto running the assessment centre with Oracle/Netsuite employees present). Also, there were nearly 40 candidates present, the most I've seen at any assessment centre, and frankly, a bit lazy on Pareto's side.
The assessment centre day goes like most; company presentation, self-introductions (all 40 of them), group activities, presentation, lunch, and interviews. The assessment centre day was gruelling, and a bit tiresome. About halfway through the day, just after lunch, everyone is separated into groups and go into a room with one of the recruiters. Then the news is told whether or not you have made the cut to continue the day or not (ouch).
The latter half of the day is the slower one, where everyone of the 20-something candidates left, has to wait to be interviewed. If you're applying for a technical/financial consulting, you will have to do a test after the interview - this was not communicated before the assessment centre.
At the end of the day, when everyone has been interviewed, and tired, you are kept in a room for about another hour as decisions are made. Before names are called, the recruiters thank everyone for their time and says that feedback will be given to everyone, regardless if they got the job or not (they would not call you for feedback, so you have to call). Again, everyone's names are called out and separated into groups and then told if they made it or not.
