      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Native Instruments (Berlin) en oct. 2017

      Entretien

The interview with NI was a 3 stage process. First they were 2 skype interviews and then a visit in Berlin to meet the team in person. The whole process lasted less than a month and was a very pleasant experience compared to the other interviews I had at the same time with a few other companies around Europe. I've first applied for the position from LinkedIn and then Katy from HR started the communication and arranged the first skype interview which was a mix of technical and HR. The first interview was a brief introduction with the head of HW, a senior engineer from the HW team and HR. That was a generic and easy-going conversation about previous experience and my current role at the time. We were all experienced and established a good communication very fast; therefore I got the feeling that there's a good chemistry and I felt that this is going to work for both sides. Therefore, we didn't spend too much time in non meaningful questions and skill digging, which I found very pleasing. To resume, when 3 experienced and skilled people sit together on a table and having a discussion, it would just take a few minutes to establish a common ground and understand each other. That's what happened and it was very refreshing compared to other interviews I had which followed patterns that they don't really work if you want to hire a good engineer. The interview lasted for about an hour. The second skype interview was only technical and it was on the same tempo, which I would describe as a coffee break discussion among engineers who share their experiences. That also lasted for about an hour. The third interview was on the company's site in Berlin. There I've met also other members of the team from HW and product management and I've seen the site. I had to sign an NDA and everything was pleasant. I've felt comfortable with everyone. Again, the discussion wasn't in depth technical. I've already figured out the project and their needs before go there, so we didn't have to spend much time on explaining things to each other. The outcome was most positive, it seems a nice environment and all the people I've met where open and friendly. Anyway, the key points are that the interview was pleasant and I think that we didn't got consumed in non meaningful things, which sadly has become the norm nowadays. Easy going procedure in general. HR team is great and Katy was very helpful during the whole process. Finally, it's the first time that I'm writing an interview review and the reason is that I do this is because I do actually have a lot of positive things to write.
