      Entretien pour Inside Sales Representative

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Meraki en juill. 2011

      Entretien

I was in the final round of interviews with a couple of companies and my recruiter suggested I give Meraki a shot with my experience, so I obliged. I started with a phone screen which consisted of pretty standard questions. I learned later that my product knowledge weighed heavily on their decision to bring me in, so studying up really paid off. I told them I was in final rounds with other companies, so they were able to expedite the process and get me in that week. I met with 2 Sales Managers, the Inside Sales Director, and the VP of Sales. Walking in, I noticed that there was a really positive energy in the office. A lot of buzz on the sales floor and appeared to be a very autonomous work environment, which was exactly what I was looking for. People were throwing footballs, walking around while talking on the phone, couches in common areas, fully stocked kitchen, etc.. The interviews were structured as a half hour with each person. The questions ranged from my background and experience to my sales strategy and most importantly, product knowledge. I was fortunate enough to come from a tech background, but many of my colleagues did not and watching the videos, reading the website materials, etc. is the best way to prove to the Managers that you have the ability to learn the products and talk technically. Ask about how many Sales Reps are hitting their quotas, it is the highest percentage I have seen for any company I have worked for. Big comp packages are great, but only if the quotas attainable, and at Meraki that is definitely the case. When it came down to it, I was between two companies and I chose Meraki because the people just seemed really happy there. I can say now after have spent some time working there, I know this to be true. There is a ton of competitive comradery on the sales floor and there are just a lot of really smart people working there. The Founders are the kind of people you want to work for and the CEO is one of the most competent CEO's I have had the pleasure of working for. My advise if you want to get hired? Study up, be yourself, and show your passion for the company. Take some time to walk the sales floor if you get a chance too. And I won't waste my time commenting on some of the bogus posts on here, but these don't sound like anyone who works at Meraki. I've had some cool jobs, but I can easily say its the best job I have ever had.

Got a first call from an HR representative after my submission on Linkedin. Then my second call was with a manager that asked me about my previous experiences. Unfortunately there was no follow up on that.

efficient, effective, fair -- the recruiters prepped you accordingly and really want you to succeed. the managers are knowledgable and eager to answer your questions. I was impressed with Cisco Meraki compared to other large organizations.

Overall the process was pleasant and fair. A recruiter from Meraki reached out via LinkedIn. We had a 30 minute initial phone screen. Pretty standard tell me about yourself questions. A day later I was asked to do a 30 minute phone interview with a sales manager. During the sales manager interview, a team lead ran the call instead. A green flag that there is room to grow here. They asked pretty standard questions as well. They are really big on culture or at least they say they are. I was told to be ready to talk about the products during this interview, but they never asked. Be ready to talk about your sales experience and current quota. They move fast - a day later I was asked to come in for a 2-hour four part interview. By now, the recruiter has sent you an email containing literally hours of videos and links about the company to research before the interview. Nice that they set you up for success, but it’s a lot of information to digest (especially how quickly they move through interviews). Know the 6 products, their competitors, and their value prop. Also, know you’re own sales numbers - very specific. You can bring notes to the interview. They show you around the office - cool space. Not really a west loop location like they advertise. Kind of hard to get to actually. The 4 interviews aren’t bad if you prep for it. Be ready to talk about everything in detail. You can’t fake the interview - especially the product knowledge. I have a neutral outlook because I was told I would know right away, but it took them a week to reach out and tell me they’re going in another direction. I was told my underwhelming theme was lack of passion for, “why Meraki”. I was told I nailed everything else so that was interesting feedback. They have a very solid product line. But, it seems like a shove it down your throat culture. It’s an 8-5. No work from home. Although, it does seem like they have solid training and upward mobility if you work for it.
