      Entretien pour Account Manager

      18 oct. 2017
      Employé (anonyme)
      New York, NY
      Offre acceptée
      Expérience positive
      Entretien difficile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 7 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Medtronic (New York, NY) en oct. 2017

      Entretien

Contacted by their internal recruiter initially and had a phone interview with her. Next was a phone interview with the hiring manager, followed by an in person interview (which was okay but I wasn’t really my usual self, maybe due to nerves), after which I was given a personality assessment. Once my results came back I was contacted by a senior rep to set up an interview, which was more casual and not as structured as the first. Again, I was asked to meet with the hiring manager and definitely showed him my personality that time, found out I was one of three top candidates, and was told there would be at least two more phone interviews with his peers. Once those were done, I was asked to interview with the manger and his AVP for a final decision as to which of the three of us would be chosen. I prepared a 15 minute presentation showing my success in previous careers, provided binders with the slides to both interviewers, then answered several organized questions from the AVP that were situational regarding how I handled challenges and set backs in the past. I answered honestly, with specific examples, and made sure my personality and sales approach was reflected in my answers. They told me they were making a decision and offer the next day. I received a call from the manager with a verbal job offer within 24 hours. The process was long and rigorous. I followed up every interview with a thank you email to the interviewer and a reason I was the best candidate for the position, and tried to analyze each interview as to how I could change and improve for the next one. Felt like I did an excellent job on the last one, and most important, and it was because I learned from, and improved upon, all the others. So, a very demanding interview process, but it caused me to be on my “A” game and really highlight and appreciate the success I’ve achieved over the years in my sales career.

They have a system they go by- on how to conduct interviews. Its not as simple but not hard to complete. They want you to give examples and scenarios. My interviewer did not go off script.
