      Entretien

When you submit an application there's a required field for a Loom video asking why'd you'd be a great fit for the role. I loved this because it requires you to use the tool you would potentially advocate for. The next step was a video interview with someone on the Customer Success team. He was very well prepared, and I felt like he truly wanted to know more about my background and my customer success philosophy. After this interview is a take-home exercise. I am a HUGE fan of a project since it gives you the opportunity to demonstrate how you would approach an on the job situation compared to just your resume. After submitting my project I was invited to a panel video interview. This consisted of a more in-depth customer success interview from the person I previously met with, a culture-type interview with a potential colleague, the director of the department, and someone from the people operations team. The final part of the interview process was providing 5 references. Each person genuinely loved their job and took the time to answer all of the questions I had. I worked with Rachel throughout my time interviewing, and she made the entire process as stress-free as possible. I always knew the next step in the process and what was involved. She was also always quick to respond which in my experience is truly rare. I was so excited to get an offer and can't wait to start!

      Entretien

Part of my poor experience at Loom was due to the fact that their acquisition by Atlassian had just been announced. The process was standard, though very drawn out (I believe they were comparing me against several candidates), and I felt like steps kept getting added to buy more time. I will say that the "super day," when I met many members of the team, was positive. I also had positive conversations with the hiring manager and VP. I was impressed with the team overall, recruiter aside. From the get-go, the recruiter was surprisingly unprofessional. She would take several days to respond to an email (again, I think they were buying time to compare me against others). Additionally, twice during the process, she declined to tell me the salary range for the role (which is not legal in the state where I am located). When I finally received an offer, it was 50% lower than what had originally been posted online, pre-acquisition. The recruiter gaslit me when I suggested that I had seen a range posted and then taken down. The hiring manager did come in to do some damage control (and ended saving my impression of them/the team), but ultimately we weren't able to bring the comp up to the originally posted range, so I declined the offer. If Loom had been forthcoming from the outset about the change in salary range, we could have saved each other many hours of wasted time.
