I had an initial interview with a recruiter for quality engineer position at J&J. It was a super long interview (about 1-hr) even though it was just an initial interview with the recruiter. I already felt that their hiring process was really strict. The recruiter tried to dig up all information about me and I felt a bit uncomfortable because he tended to be a professional engineer during the interview. I understand that he wanted to explain everything thoroughly before moving forward to the next steps with the hiring mangers, but it was too much! He was not an engineer, but wanted to talk about technical skills and everything that was not necessary on the first interview. In addition, he wanted to talk about the base salary. I tried to avoid answering that question, but he persistently asked what range I wanted for the salary. I had no choice and told him my expected amount, but he said the range is not realistic. The amount I mentioned was very reasonable for the position I applied because I have already researched a lot about the average amount by asking my engineer friends, researching online, and etc. After the interview, it's been 2 months. NO feedback at all. Overall, the interview was not really a pleasure experience.

Received interview invitation through an email. Few days later the interview went very smoothly. 3 sessions into 1 hour for the first 2 and half an hour for the third. First round was about Leadership experience conducted with Senior Managers, second session was for technical expertise and last one was about Ethics and Morals. Overall, it was a loose round of discussion where it’s easy to make it out.
