After submitting an online application I received an email asking if I had availability for a phone screen the next business day. I quickly replied with a generous range of time but didn't get a confirmation. Hours later, at the end of the traditional business day, I call the company representative. He seemed disorganized and may have even forgotten about the request.
The phone screen was odd and also unorganized. The interviewer was knowledgeable about the company's history and spoke about it with passion. In contrast, he was very general and less enthusiastic about the position description; almost as if he only knew what was listed in the job description. He didn't ask many questions beyond - tell me about your qualifications. He would make a statement then pause as if expecting an answer to the unasked question. I don't think this was a 'strategy' but instead was a sign of inexperience.
Overall, I believe the company offers a good product and has nice potential. The downfall may be not having the right people in the right positions and not having consistent (repeatable) processes.
