I met with the CFO, the head of Corporate Finance (reported to the CFO) and the head of the Group Financial Control team (reported to the head of Corporate Finance). The CFO bad-mouthed her direct report to me during the interview, which should have tipped me off immediately that this was a bad company to work for. There was obvious conflict between the head of Corporate Finance and the head of the Group Financial Control team. I also met with one of my future colleagues, who was very cagey and was not forthright about the horrible atmosphere in the department.
