After phone interview by a seemingly junior recruiter was invited to office for a meet/greet. IG claims they like to first eyeball candidates before submitting to a client despite having come from an elite employer and having a photo on LinkedIn profile. As a professional I felt this unnecessary given this is a contingent recruiter and not specifically retained by a client. My impression is most IG recruiters are junior level and unable to understand job descriptions! IMO, IG is probably better suited to place lower level contract workers as opposed to placing professionals on a permanent basis. I respect the fact the firm trains their recruiters to be professional, but in reality recruitment is a numbers game and much of this presubmission action is unnecessary and a waste of time for many. Oftentimes the end result is no followup or reply and this most unacceptable!
