One of the most negative interview experiences I've had. The process I went through consisted of three rounds of interviews, each 45 minutes to an hour as well as psychometric assessment which takes another 45 minutes. The whole thing took 4 months in total. Additionally what made this a particularly negative experience was:
- About 10 or so minutes was spent answering questions about how my current organisation is structured vs. actual interview questions about the role. This was for not just one, but two of the interviews I was in.
- One of the interviewers rocking up 10 minutes late
- Lack of ongoing updates and communication from internal recruiter and really poor coordination to get interviews scheduled in by their offshore team
- Zero communication about what each interview round was for – lots of repeating of the same information and points as in previous interviews
- Zero communication after final interview about next steps or timeframe
- Generic rejection email sent out about a month after the final interview
Phew. Would definitely not consider applying to ING ever again.
