Applied online in January via college job site, initial email contact in February, phone screening in April, onsite interview (all expenses paid) and job offer in May. The process was very well streamlined so you knew where you were in the process and the next step. I had four 30mins interviews back to back, lunch, then a 45 min writing test. Know your past projects well (research, programming etc) and be able to talk well about your resume. Also be able to eloquently explain why Research Assistant/consulting and why you.

Two interview rounds. The first interview was more about getting know each other, interests, the team. The second interview was with more senior staff members, a bit more on talking about technical abilities and interests, followed by a case study writing assignment. The assignment took 2.5h and was adequate for the level that I applied for.
The process took a long time. Sometimes I did not hear anything for several weeks and had to chase them, other times they were super responsive and called me spontaneously to discuss expectations. Overall positive and friendly, but at times inconsistent!
Panel interview with multiple people. Lasted two hours. Panelists were nice and professional. Described the position, asked a series of about 10 questions, asked about interest in topical area of project and technical skills.
