Initial screening interview was the first step followed by providing writing samples, online assessment and finally, for me, a copy edit asssignment which I was given five days to complete but instructed to only spend eight hours on. The eight hours was reasonable since in the real world deadlines are real and you don't have an infinite amount of time to complete assignments.

As it was a month or so ago, I don't remember the exact conversation but the person I spoke to did inquire about salary expectation.
I would like to add that the person that I was working with during the interview process was extremely courteous, timely and professional throughout. It is unfortunate I did not get the position. None the less, if my contact during the interview process is reflecitive of the company I would imagine it would be a good place to work.

Entretien
I submitted my application in late June (2021). Then, after only four days I was contacted by a recruiter for a phone conversation to see if I’d meet qualifications. Within the conversation she expressed I would need to complete an assignment within five days for a quick turn around. This was assigned right before the Fourth of July Holiday with no extension. I completed the assignment and submitted it that Monday. After a week of no response I reached out and received an automatic response that the recruiter was out of office until mid-July. After another week I was contacted with positive feedback and asked to schedule a panel interview. In the interim, I was asked to complete a personality assessment with a few hours turn around time. I took the advice of the recruiter, did my homework, and thought the interview went very well. There was amazing dialogue and the structure of my answers genuinely impressed the panel. I was given a time frame of “a few weeks” until I hear back. After 6 business days, within the 5-7 business day window, I was contacted and told the team enjoyed our conversations and was impressed with my background but they went with someone that had a bit more expertise. It was a bittersweet outcome but the company was timely and response.

Brief phone interview with the recruiter to explain the job and functions, followed by a copy editing assignment. The copywriting was a 5 page document I was asked to edit from everything to grammar and language to style and content.
