J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez H&M (Newport, Newport, Wales) en août 2017

      Entretien

I applied online and got a call to attend a group interview a week later. At the interview there were eleven interviewees and two people leading the day. The day began with everyone being given a random ice-breaker question (things like "Who would play you in the movie of your life?" and "What is the weirdest thing you've ever eaten?") before we were split into groups to create a poster about the five things that make a great sales advisor. Following this, we were then given a short customer bio and occasion and had to put together an outfit using cuttings from magazines which we then presented to the group to explain our choices. We were then given a series of ten scenarios that we could face as sales advisors and had to discuss them as a group (things like what you'd do if you were on your lunch break and saw a colleague that was supposed to be sick out shopping) and then we were told we were allowed to leave. The whole process took less than two hours and I received a call saying I’d been successful the next day. I have no retail experience, was older than most of the other candidates and of the eleven people that were interviewed just two were hired from our group and neither of us had the biggest personalities or were the most vocal. I believe that the importance is placed on how well you present yourself and how and what you are actually contributing to the discussion. Expressing yourself visually at the interview is something they recommend online, only one person at the interview dressed in a traditional interview attire, so I attempted to heighten my usual style without losing what makes it distinctive.
