I had phone screens with people from HR and Engineering. The HR lady misplaced my email and I had to follow up with her. But when I did eventually talk to her, she seemed genuinely nice and knew a lot of the technical ins and outs. My phone interview with engineering was with someone even younger than me (and I am 25). He asked questions about experience and stuff, but seemed very busy and just "checking things off." I tried looking at his blog, online profile, and stuff to strike a connection, but he didn't want to seem to do that like the HR lady did. He had to run for a meeting and cut our interview short. Overall, it seems like even although Groupon is big and growing they are more interested in throughput and not getting to know you. And it doesn't seem like they are willing to invest in employees even though I would expect that from an entry-level college graduate position.
