      Entretien

The overall interview process was the worst experience I've had to date. I reached out to the hiring manager/director on LinkedIn. After a quick introduction phone call with the hiring manager, I was told my application would be flagged and I would hear back a week later. 3 weeks later, a recruiter finally reached out for a phone screen. I was told the team wanted to hire ASAP and that I would need to have a final round the following week. Immediately after the phone screen, I was sent an NDA. The next morning, before signing the NDA, I recieved a meeting invite from another TA member scheduling a virtual onsite in about a week. I replied and proposed a different time slot. I did not hear back for a few days. I finally called the recruiter, and he mentioned he the team could not accomodate my proposed schedule, so we kept the time slot. The interview was 3 rounds of about 1 hour each. I first spoke with an internal stakeholder who was great. After joining the next zoom call for the second interviewer at the scheduled time, I waited in the zoom room alone for about 15 minutes. Again, I texted the recruiter, who mentioned the interviewer was in a meeting. I waited for another 15 minutes until the interviewer finally joined. The recruiter mentioned it was a miscommunication with the zoom link. The interviewer was also amazing and had great insight. The final call was with the hiring manager, who I had spoked to initially. We also had a great conversation. At the end, the hiring manager said they will be in contact in a week. 1.5 weeks later, without hearing anything, I email the recruiter asking for any update. I did not get a response for two days, so I followed up with a text. The recruiter finally responds and leaves a voicemail saying the team would finalize a decision within the next few days. Another week goes by, and no response. I finally reach out again at the 2.5 weeks after the virtual onsite interview. Two days later, I recieve a generic rejection email. The email did not even include the title of the role. The ironic part is, this role's main stakeholder would have been the People Team at Github (including TA). Despite the horrible experience, I was still looking forward to helping better their processes.
