I was first contacted by an HR and she collected my details and asked for the expected salary, which I mentioned.
After that I had 3 rounds of interview, mostly technical.
Then, I was asked to share my documents and received a call to discuss the compensation. I mentioned the same amount which I mentioned at the start. They placed my request on hold. When I called the HR, she told me that the team is not ready to pay that much amount.
Question to the HR and hiring team:
if candidate's expected salary doesn't match your budget, why do you proceed with the interview process and waste candidate's time?
This is the same scenario when candidates stop responding to the company 2 days before joining.

Just past work experience hr decision only. If you have 8 years of relevant experience but still they look for b.com graduates. They won't consider relevant experience if you are not from B.com background. They ask us to wait for next opportunity.
