J'ai postulé en personne. J'ai passé un entretien chez General Mills (Minneapolis, MN) en avr. 2016

      Entretien

I was a contractor so I had great connections with everyone at GMI and within recruiting. I applied for this position and they had me take a personality test, a math test (think back to 8th grade when questions like "Train A left at 10:00am and train B left at 3:00pm..."). In marketing, you also have to write a case study. They sit you down in a small room with a computer, pad of paper and a calculator. There were multiple questions you had to answer and a bigger overarching marketing campaign question. EX: "If you were a cereal brand, how would you market a new product." You would then have to take your case study and present it to the marketing/hiring manager you are interviewing with. After the case study part, you come in again and I met with 4 different people, all separate meetings. The process is extremely difficult, even with having marketing experience in the company.

      Entretien

Overall, the interview process, although very thorough and situational question-heavy, went really smoothly. Everything was communicated very clearly so I knew exactly what to expect. I applied online and got a call about 2 weeks later to set up a phone interview. After the phone interview, a few days later I was contacted to schedule an in-person interview. Scheduling this took about 2 weeks. I met with 2 HR specialists, and 3 people from the direct team. Each interview had situational questions, but also was casual enough to develop into a conversation. One of the interviews was over coffee at Caribou inside the building. They also walked me around the different buildings, so it was nice to see all that GM has to offer. Overall I couldn't ask for a better interviewing process.

First step in the process is a phone screen interview with a recruiter. Then, if selected, a half day in-person interview at the main headquarters, in Minneapolis, including interviews with the team and human resources. They ask behavioral based interview questions, and ask about previous experience directly relating to the job description.

      Entretien

Applied online and got a call from an HR assistant a week later to set up a 1:1 call with the position's supervisor. After that call, I was invited to an in-person interview at the GM HQ in Golden Valley and given an online reasoning and personality test to complete. The in-person interview was very structured, but a good experience. Managers have a sheet of questions they walk through one-by-one taking notes — be sure to answer in the recommended "Situation/Task/Context/Action/Result" format or you may get asked to rephrase.
