Entretien pour Supply Chain Analytics Consultant

      7 févr. 2017
      Employé (anonyme)
      Minneapolis, MN
      Offre acceptée
      Expérience positive
      Entretien difficile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un établissement d'enseignement supérieur ou universitaire. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez General Mills (Minneapolis, MN) en janv. 2017

      Entretien

I was referred to GM by a friend who was declining an offer. I got a phone interview from the hiring manager. After that I was invited to on-site interviews. I had 3 back-to-back interviews with stakeholders of the analytics team. The day was planned perfectly: trip from hotel to GM offices, breakfast with the hiring manager and another applicant to ask any questions, 3 interviews, lunch with an analytics consultant to ask any further questions and finally the trip to the airport. The visit was very pleasant, everyone is very nice and welcoming.

      Entretien

First outreach was done via email after applying in their careers site. A 30-minute phone interview was set up, consisting of a "tell me about yourself", behavioral questions, and a mini case question with multiple iterations of questions. After concluding the initial interview, I was invited to interview on-site at their Minneapolis HQ campus. I had to complete Hogan assessments and an SHL deductive reasoning assessment prior to my interview day. The interview day was a sort of "super day"; I was met up front by a friendly HR representative, was guided through their offices to the meeting room where my first interview would be conducted. I had 2 back-to-back interviews with a 15-minute break between the two. Then I was accompanied to have lunch at their main kitchen/lunch room by an "ambassador" that works in the role I interviewed for to hear more about working for GM, the role itself, and getting to know more details that may not surface during an interview. Lastly, I had a 3rd interview in similar format to the first 2 (they all lasted 45 minutes), and I was walked back by my final interviewer to their Talent offices to debrief with another very nice HR representative to talk about potential next steps and timeline, should they move forward with an offer. I was gifted a small bag of GM goodies (think: Cheerios, Gushers, Granola bars, a really nice touch). Overall, the interview experience was great. I enjoyed it a lot.

      Question 1

Mostly consisting of "tell me about yourself", behavioral questions, why leave your current role and come to GM, questions about challenges/mistakes/feedback I've received and how I reacted or addressed the situations.

      Entretien

I had a 30 min phone screening with one of the hiring managers and another consultant. Later that afternoon, I received an email to set up an onsite interview for the following week. I met with the recruiting manager at the General Mills HQs; she let me know a little about each of the interviewers. I then had 3 1:1 interviews with members of the supply chain team. To finish off the onsite interviews, I had an informal meeting with another supply chain member over coffee. She returned me to the recruiting office and one of the recruiters answered any last questions, gave me a swag bag, escorted me out and let me know they would get back to me the following week on their decision. They got back to me sooner and actually wanted to offer me one of 2 other positions which they thought would be better fits. The interviewers are looking to see if you will be a good long term fit with General Mills, not for just a single role.

      Question 1

Give me a time when you stopped a project early? How did you determine that it should not continue? Did you need to influence others on the decision; if so, how?

      Question 2

Where do you see yourself long term?
