Walking in and submitting an application and resume in person is the best way to make an impression. If they have time they may interview you on the spot and begin the process if you are qualified for the position they are trying to fill. If not they will either call you for an interview or send you a postcard letting you know why you were not advanced to the next step in the hiring process. Aside from having the skills required to do the job you will also need to have a strong sense of customer service. If your first interview with HR goes well they will submit your resume and application to the Executive Chef for their consideration. If the Executive Chef approves you will be called in for an interview and to do a practicum where you will have to opportunity to showcase what you can do. Based on that interview and how well you've performed during the practicum, the Executive Chef will then make his decision with the final approval being given by the Director of Food and Beverage.

Unethical. I had a job offer rescinded. The recruiter put down a different start date than was discussed (moved up by a month, starting 5 days after the sign date). The contract didn't mention benefits that were included in the job listing. The weekly hours in the letter were different than what the recruiter said in-person. I reached out to ask just to clarify, said I was flexible, and two days later they sent an email saying the offer was rescinded. Seems to me like the recruiter was unwilling to engage any questions about the contract or acknowledge a possible miscommunication. I imagine the way it was communicated to the culinary team reflected poorly on me. Or they interviewed someone else they were more excited about, and came up with a dubious excuse to rescind the offer. Overall it was unprofessional. They didn't explain it in a way that made sense. I have no idea what it would be like to work there, but as far as how they treat someone they interviewed and offered a job, it was rigid and dismissive.
