      Entretien pour Project Manager

      28 sept. 2016
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Brooklyn, NY
      Aucune offre

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Etsy (Brooklyn, NY) en juin 2016

      Entretien

A few days after submitting my application, one of Etsy's internal recruiters contacted me and set up a brief phone interview where we reviewed my credentials and discussed the company's values and needs for the particular role. About a week later, I was given a short writing assignment with a window of a few days to complete it. A few days after submitting the project, I was invited to meet at the Brooklyn HQ with several members of the team. Everyone was incredibly friendly and focused mainly on my past experiences and how they relate to the position, along with general questions about my interests and how I like to operate. I was disappointed to get an email a few days later letting me know that a different candidate had been selected, but it seems like an extremely positive environment with a lot of growth opportunities for its employees. All in all, it was a very straightforward process. My only criticism was the standard interview inefficiency of repeating the same answers to the same questions for several people throughout the course of the interview. That's not a stab at Etsy by any means - this is pretty standard for interviews anywhere, but I wish there was a more streamlined process to make the most of your time with each person.

Call with Etsy recruiter followed by an hour long call with the hiring manger. Did not hear anything back for 5 weeks. Recruiter reached out and said they wanted to go to next step. Had 4 interviews and then no word for 3 more weeks. Etsy states their goal is to keep commerce human but apparently they aren't trying at all to keep the hiring process human.

      Question 1

100% behavioral interview questions. I had 4 interviews and each had 3 behavioral questions. Many of the questions were the same which made no sense

      Entretien

Recruiter was very accessible and asked genuine questions about experience, why interested in role and company etc. There was significant delay in getting a clear update on next steps after multiple follow ups.

Why this role and why Etsy ?

Recruiter screen, hiring manager interview, and then onsite. Recruiters are GREAT and so are all the other people. Hiring manager interview was mostly behavioral, plus a mini case (typical q like "design x for y") and onsite was 90% behavioral except an mini analytics case.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

describe a time you failed? describe a time you inspired a team? What's the hardest problem you've ever solved? what's something cool you learned recently? how do you make sure you're meeting expectations? time you had to give difficult feedback? time you received negative feedback? time you received negative feedback you disagreed with? time you made a bad decision? time you identified a problem others didn't know about? how do you teach someone something new? time you had to anticipate a problem and prevent it?
