I went through several rounds with different team members and managers, then was flown out for a day of interviews and a presentation. Going in I was confident but during the in persons I began to have doubts. It took them a very long time (weeks) to let the recruiter know I didn’t get the job and they never would respond to my follow ups to see if there was a weakness I could work on. 9 months later I got an automated email saying they were considering other candidates. The lack of communication really caused a lot of stress for me at my other job and with making decisions about whether to renew my lease, things like that. The two upper managers seemed to really like me. Not sure where the breakdown was. The company seemed pretty good. Very white male dominated, but working on being more diverse. The town is very small but the lack of traffic and good schools was appealing.
