Entretien
Three rounds not including the initial video call with the technical recruiter. The first interview round the hiring manager, followed by two technical interviews conducted by senior engineers. In the second round after the introductions were over I had to remotely connect to a virtual machine and troubleshoot an issue. You have to have a good solid linux admin skills and experience with typical app deployment issues (cert errors, port conflicts, file handlers) In the hands on interview the interviewer provided a list of symptoms which you used to troubleshoot. You really have to know your linux admin skills and have related field experience to get through this. You have to know systemctl, journalctl, openssl -- a good command of linux. Focus is not on coding (Go lang) though solving the problem will require some simple code modification, recompile, and restart of services. The last round was more of a theoretical technical interview. I discussed my experience and answered various scenario type questions. They were meant to gauge my thought process and hands on experience.

Recruiter looked me after seeing my profile on linkedIn and was very friendly and straight forward on questions from my end. Helped me along the way to meet with the team, manager and director. Timezone was not an issue and they always accommodate to what was best for both parties. All the interviews were online with remote tools working pretty well. Interviewers were very friendly and asked pertinent questions to validate what I said on paper I was capable of. They were also very candid and honest answering my own questions back about the company, the culture, the team and the overall happiness within. I found the process to be very easy to follow and even when it took a bit of time, it was on my best interest as I was also dealing with my previous employer.

Question 1
The level of questioning started from basic up to getting more complex. They did specific technical questions about my field and how to deal with certain situations and I found them to be pretty standard. No coding or whiteboard drawing was needed.
