They need to make it clear that only up to 10 people will be hired for each event. The best part is how they sweep out the ones who didn't get hired. Instead of letting people know they didn’t make it, they smoothly and quickly get them out and off of the premises in a very clever way without anyone even knowing it. The presenters will give the same boring stories over and over and talk about how out of 150,000 people you at least made it. They will thank everyone, get everyone to smile and clap, they tell everyone the session is concluded and everyone will receive an email in about 10 days on the decision and that Delta will handle all of the arrangements to get everyone to the airport. A curtain in the room will open and you will see a long row of recruiters smiling in pairs. These recruiters will get into a path, and will be there on your way out into a hallway. Group one will be called, they will call about 15 to 20 names, people will clap and you will go to a storage room to collect your belongings. Group two, three, four, etc., will be called and each group will be off of the premises in the shuttle in less than three minutes. They do not want anyone loitering behind in the lobby, you are off the premises as if you were never there and it’s all smiles on your way out. When they are down to between 1-10 candidates these are the people who are offered the job and will stay behind to chat. Yes, even out of 50-60 people for some of these events only ONE person made it. What’s bad about this is for those who didn’t make it you will be sitting at the airport for a minimum of six to eight hours. If your name is called to get to the shuttle you are not getting the job, they are getting you out of there ASAP. The average guy will not get hired unless you are an internal candidate which there are not many of these applicants. One recruiter who was an internal candidate was hired about 13 years ago and he talked about how at in-flight training is where he met his wife and he was the only recruiter there who was an internal hire. They will let a few guys like this slip in, but these guys are rare as if they don't exist and Delta has to do this to avoid certain PR issues and even the long-term insiders will tell you this. No one will get a private room and you will have to share a room with a stranger. If you can handle this more power to you. BTW, if you didn’t make it Delta purges your application from the system in 1 to 3 days, it won’t even be on the past application list. If you get the wrong recruiter and the wrong evaluators, you are not getting in.
If you don’t want to wait three months just re-apply using another e-mail address and change it on your resume. Everything is computerized when it comes to the personality assessment and the one way video questionnaire. The insiders will tell you this as well. No one has time to go through 100,000 assessments, they don’t have enough manpower. You have to be extremely submissive and passive on the personality assessment. If the system passes you, you will instantly get the link for the video interview. After finishing the video questionnaire no matter how you did you will instantly get the offer and a link to schedule the meeting in Atlanta, but again you have to be extremely passive on the personality assessment. The cost of the whole process including hotel, parking and taxi can cost up to $200. Some hotels near the facility will shuttle you to the site, but if they don’t be prepared to spend money on a taxi or Uber. This information is provided so that you the applicant can make a decision in your own best interests. If you go to Atlanta it’s your own choice and this gives an idea of what to expect. Be cautious if you can’t afford to do this. It’s not too expensive but for some it makes a difference. Be aware that Delta changes the process from time to time so in a few weeks or months they might change the entire process. It’s funny how they treat everyone and expect them to stay silent on the whole process. Merry Christmas and have a safe and happy holiday.
