I was contacted after turning in my resume. I had two separate phone interviews which were very informal, mostly because of the type of manager I had. On the second interview, I was told that I was actually competing against another agent from State Farm who they thought would be able to bring over a book of business. In the end, I was given the job over the phone which is where things got difficult. I had to make arrangements to go down to California for 2 weeks for training. Being down in Cali was awesome but being in training memorizing a 10 page sales script was awful. Ultimately the interview was pretty easy and I found out later it's because Combined is a failing company that desperately needs warm bodies to stay alive.
