The recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and invited me to a screening call for two roles: Staff and Lead. On the screening I got the expectations about both roles and was able to choose. First part of the screening was quite usual: introductions and background reviews. Second part contained questions from the hiring manager which were both technical and leadership.
The next step was the interview with the hiring manager. We spoke about my experience, role expectations and the current engineering challenges. I got technical and architectural questions about the technologies and the areas the team is working with.
After the interview with the hiring manager I got a rejection email with detailed feedback. They liked my leadership and general engineering background, but I don't have direct hands-on experience in the required technical areas, which meant I was not the best fit.
All in all I had really positive experience interviewing with Cloudera. Everybody was kind, the process was transparent and I got the detailed feedback in the end.
