recruiter phone > HR > peer > panel presentation My interaction with the HR recruiter was not pleasant at all. She first approached me on LinkedIn to have a casual coffee chat, asking if I were open to learning more about the opportunity. I was like sure, why not and hopped on the call. She started asking me questions like why Braze? what's your compensation expectation? what do you like about Braze? Why did you apply? (I didn't...), etc. Of course I wasn't prepared to answer well as this was a casual coffee chat. She complained that I lacked the passion for Braze and that I should've shown more enthusiasm for the role. I hardly know about the role and certainly didn't expect to answer all those with passion. I didn't have a salary number in mind yet of course, but she forced me to say yes to a number on a first call. Does Braze not have what's called a salary negotiation? This was certainly not a good first representation of Braze.
