Context: Recently separated Marine vet with 5 yrs of ATC electronics experience working with similar equipment this position listed.
-After the talent acquisition team interviewed me to see if I qualified for a technical interview, I was excited to meet with the technical hiring team. I spoke with two women in the hiring team which excited me, they began asking about my experience listed in my resume but unfortunately the interview ended shortly after that.
-What I learned from this interview process was that they probably preferred a Navy technician due to their experience on ship vs a Marine that worked on the same equipment on shore.
-For any marines out there applying to technical fields supporting the navy in any way, you are not a priority due to the lack of certifications compared to what the Navy offers.
-My opinion also varies by location, San Diego is a highly competitive city in this field.
***I recommend applying here anyways!!!! Their talent acquisition team does a great job staying in touch before and after!! They provide great tools for a successful interviewing process. Their emails regarding interview information is very thorough. Keep applying and don’t lose hope!
