They call you for an initial phone interview. If you pass that, then you come in for a super day. You go through several rounds of interviews with different departments and people. Level of difficulty depends on the person that is interviewing you. They come together in the end and talk about it as a group and hire the analysts/

Question 1
Why iShares, why background, background on yourself. It was pretty straightforward. I don't remember much. They ask about your skillset. Strengths and weaknesses

2 phone calls and a super day.
1st phone call was a screening to find out a little more about you, no technical questions at all.
2nd phone call was more technical. Questions such as explain QE3, discuss the recent US Government shutdown and the fallout from it. They weren't looking for right answer, just that you knew the basics and kept up to date with current events
Super Day: 3 interviews, two of them were 2 on 1, the third was a group exercise. The interviews asked questions to do with teamwork and how you handled conflict in teams, and basically examples of when you had been in teams and the outcomes. The group session required you to pick out professional services from the list provided which would be most crucial to start a new society. Halfway through, another list is provided and you have to re-evaluate your choices. You must then give a 5 min presentation outlining your reasons for choosing the people you chose.

Had 5 rounds of interview for this middle office support role - which might seem abit much but then it is blackrock. 1 interview with HR, 1 skills test to test your excel skills and basic presentation skills then interview with 2 members of the iShares sales team, and then 1 interview with the iShares director in Singapore and the last interview was with iShares Managing Director for Asia Ex-Japan.
Overall experience was great - the company is a very good company. Pity they selected someone else with more experience.
