Applied online through BlackRock's website, completed HireVue with two questions, moved on to first-round interview (30 min virtual interview, all behavioral). A few weeks later I was invited to interview in New York. Completed 4 back-to-back interviews, mostly behavioral, one or two technical questions related to computer science (my major). Received phone call saying I'd gotten the offer less than a week later.

On campus recruiting: first round interview on campus. They firstly asked me to go through my resume and detailed one particular research experience. Then came with the questions such as why risk? Why blackrock? If you have 1 million dollar, how will you manage it? No technical questions. But the most tricky part is that they quoted one line from Warren Buffett and asked me if I agree with it or not:“(Gold) gets dug out of the ground in Africa, or someplace. Then we melt it down, dig another hole, bury it again and pay people to stand around guarding it. It has no utility. Anyone watching from Mars would be scratching their head.” I never heard it before and understood it in a wrong way. Maybe because I'm a Chinese so I didn't get the sense why "anyone watching from mars want to scratch their head". Now I know it was just a humorous way to say the non utility of gold. Anyway, I didn't prepare well and got declined after the first round interview.
