      Entretien pour Sales Agent

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Bankers Life en oct. 2016

      Entretien

Was called literally 35 minutes after posting my resume in Monster while applying for a position in my field. She asked if I would like to continue in my field of sales and marketing as I had similar experience listed on my resume I made a point of stating that I have no interest or ability for sales but was told it was not a problem and my skills fit the position they were looking for. I had nothing to lose and even though there were warning bells ringing and it was an hour away I figured it was worth a shot so I went. When I got there I found that it was not an interview but a group presentation with several other people. Sat for an hour and listened to a compelling presentation given by the charismatic branch manager but still felt those warning bells. Over the hour I felt a little more positive about the position and my ability to actually do this as it seemed that they just meet and learned about the clients and made an appropriate recommendation without any emphasis on selling large accounts. It all sounded quite good to my ears honestly. The fact that they had trouble moving into NY and operated under a slightly different name concerned me but it seemed okay otherwise. They mentioned incentives and bonus as well as the very real possibility of making mid 6 figures income but made no mention of commission percentage or any base pay. They mentioned licensing requirements but not who would be responsible for the fees (were they withheld from pay or part of a paid training or the employees responsibly). I left feeling ambivalent but still trying to think positively so I decided to do what I do best and research this company more. What I found was that my warning bells were dead on all along. I was actually a victim of a similar company in college nicknamed the J.U.I.C.E. cult (look it up) I should have known better. Decline second interview. Only upside was that the office was near a Korean Market I like so I went shopping after.

The interview process was very friendly. I was asked basic questions about myself and was given the opportunity to say why I would be a good fit for the company. I was then escalated to a second interview.

Two interviews, the first is a pitch of why you should work for them, plugging their benefits and anecdotes of successful employees, the second is a 1 on 1 with some pretty straightforward questions "how motivated/driven are you, how well do you learn" just hype yourself up and you get the job.

      Question 1

How teachable are you? 8, 9, or 10.
