I applied for the Trainee Flight Attendant position on December 9th, 2015. On January 4th, I was sent an email saying that i was selected to move forward in the interviewing process. I was sent a link to the video interview. You have 5 days to complete the video interview from the day they send you the link. They also send out reminders 3 days before the deadline and 24 hours before the deadline. The video interview is easy, all the questions are here on Glassdoor in previous submissions, so just prepare ahead of time and you should do fine, and remember to just be yourself! on February 2nd I was sent a message from a recruiter saying I was selected to move forward with the interview process once again. I called the recruiter and scheduled my interview for February 12th and was informed my flight itinerary would be sent out 2-3 days before the interview date. I am super excited!!! I marked it as no offer because I haven't done my group/F2F Interview yet. Does anyone have any tips? Especially if there is a separate interview stage for english and spanish bilinguals? Any tips would be appreciated!

VIRTUAL INTERVIEW * September 2024 Whole process took about 30 minutes, once we were logged into the video call- it’s everyone in one big group while the lead is explaining the process and how it will go. Everyone was separated into smaller groups with one recruiter. I was in a group of 6 plus the recruiter. Recruiter introduced herself, she explained she will ask a total of 3 questions in the entire interview. Each question was different for each of us. We started with an Ice Breaker and had 30 seconds or less to respond. Once we all answered an Ice Breaker question, she went around and asked each person 2 questions at a time. We had a minute to respond for the last 2 questions.

First, you do the Virtual group interview. It was just a screening phase. Dress professionally because that's what they're looking for. Then you get invited to the F2F. They fly you out. I recommend taking a same-day flight and getting there as early as possible.

The interview process/timeline was pretty common, straightforward and timeline wasn’t too lengthy. The process took 3 months. The video interview consists of 25-30 candidates and about one hour. The interviewer calls name of person and asks each candidate the same ice breaker question. Simple. We were told to keep answers no more than one minute. Then from the last person back to first, you are asked one situational/ behavioral tell me about a time when type question. No one’s question is the same. The VI isn’t very personable IMO. But I understand there’s a huge amount of applicants so it has to be expedited in some way. VIs for other airlines I’ve had a one on one with a recruiter or record myself as many times with up to three minutes so it depends on the airline. The face to face seemed to be in that same format. There are about 32-40 candidates and you’re divided into groups of 4. The group activity is hilarious and non related. It’s literally a block activity. It’s childish in a sense. Imagine you have a toddler and you bought them a stack of blocks to play with to build something haha It’s an exercise to see how well you work as a team so try to be as involved as you can, even if you feel lost or confused. Just do it! Interact in some way, please. The card I pulled required me to do nothing but stand there at my station and I couldn’t touch anything but I could talk to best try to explain what I see on my card. I felt odd and not so helpful. The recruiters are watching you and listening. After that, there’s the group interview. It’s pretty standard. You pick a card and you answer that question with a minute timeframe. Then, you do the same thing again but with a different recruiter. My interview went well. I won’t knock myself for that but my best advice, as obvious as this sounds, is to get there early. I walked in right at the cut off check in time, literally. I was the last one and I believe that impacted the recruiters decisions. I didn’t have the opportunity to engage with other candidates because as soon as I checked in, we all got up to go upstairs. Almost as if I was being waited on. I can see that as a negative. You have others who are so eager for this opportunity and then you have the last one strolling in lol last one in, first group out! This is where my interview ended but I know generally if you’re still there in the last two groups…great job! They want all of you. (This is adequate due to a few I know who successfully completed this process recently). You’ll do the reach test and jumpseat and SOME of you will proceed forward with a 1:1. This is where the confusion with selection comes in. There are some candidates who are offered a CJO day of with no 1:1 and they will do drug tests, paperwork, etc same day. There are some candidates who get the 1:1 and are still told they would get back to you in 5-7 days and taken back to shuttle. Not everyone who gets a 1:1 will get a CJO. You are still being considered, though. You’re a filler in a sense. My anxiety throughout the day was pretty high, but I still feel satisfied with the overall experience. I’ve worked for the airline and have had different positions within, including inflight a number of years and I did NOT get the offer. Please be easy on yourself and try not take it personally if you’re not selected. There are some people who have the skills and experience in the industry and some who don’t. Just be the best and most authentic version of yourself and pat yourself on the back for making it this far, seriously.
