My Interview Experience at AWS Annapurna Labs
My interview experience at AWS Annapurna Labs was incredibly frustrating. What started as a promising conversation quickly devolved into a lengthy and ultimately disappointing process.
I initially had one interview, which was then followed by four additional interviews as part of a "loop," and then yet another interview after that. Despite what I felt were excellent performances in every single one, I was ultimately rejected.
I genuinely don't understand why I wasn't hired. They told me it was a "tough decision" and that someone else had a specific edge, but then I saw the exact same position reposted online shortly after. This made me question the sincerity of their feedback and the entire process.
The technical questions focused heavily on C and multithreading. The C questions were straightforward and required demonstrating the ability to solve problems using pure C, without the aid of C++ features. There were also theoretical questions about multithreading.
Overall, it was a very negative experience due to the excessive number of rounds and the unclear communication at the end.

Question 1
Technical Challenge: C-based Thread Scheduler Implementation
During one of the interview rounds, I was tasked with implementing a thread scheduler in pure C. This challenge involved handling hardware timer interrupts and configuring the timer to manage thread execution. The focus was on demonstrating a deep understanding of low-level system programming and concurrent execution in a bare-metal or embedded context.

It started with an HR screening—straightforward and standard. They gave me time to prepare, and I chose the date and time for the interview.
The interview itself was conducted remotely via computer. I spoke with a pleasant team lead who spent a good amount of time telling me about the company. Afterward, we discussed my background, projects, and experience.
