The recruitment was managed by an agency. I got contacted via LinkedIn and had 2 interviews: a screening call with the sourcer and a 1-hour interview with a senior recruitment consultant. They both shared a lot of information about the company projects and team. About a week later, I received an email to schedule the interview with the hiring team at Air Canada.
The interview was... interesting. In only 30 minutes, the 2 managers wanted me to explain the most important learning programs and processes I designed, and my philosophy for L&D. When I asked questions, they were not open to sharing anything about the current issues and vision for the team. At one point, the hiring manager looked annoyed too, just because I wanted to ask more questions. This was very off-putting!
After the interview, I spoke with the recruiters, shared my feelings, and declined to continue in the process. I don't think they would have called me back anyway, and that's okay! I would never work for such arrogant managers!
