Enraging experience!! I never write reviews but this one needed to be shared!
The HR reached out to schedule the first round which was with another IM, the second round round was with two senior managers, the third round was a technical case study presentation. I made it to the third round and had the case study interview scheduled for the next week.
They had a separate question in the application asking about whether the candidate would require sponsorship to which I clearly answered yes so I had no doubt about the visa situation as that’s why companies put it in the application to filter out candidates accordingly.
I decided to just double check with the HR (and thank god I did in the middle of the process not at the end of it) and then she realised that the recruitment team has made a mistake as the company wasn’t in the position to offer sponsorship for that role so technically they shouldn’t have interviewed me at all !
The HR knew they messed up and tried sugarcoating it by not emailing but calling me directly saying we have some internal process that is stopping us from sponsoring visa at the moment, and said to hold my application until further update. She didn’t tell me the truth that they would rather have a candidate without visa requirements for the role which is okay and I understand! But it seemed shady as upon asking further details she didn’t have much to say and basically ghosted me.
I was super excited about the role, received good feedback on each stage and interviewers seemed good. But the recruitment process - terrible!! I wasted 4 weeks of my time which could have been avoided if the recruitment team carefully read what was in my application.
For a company who puts a lot of focus on ways of working - have all their interviews revolve around Adyen ways of working, and expecting their candidates to exhibit similar behaviour, didn’t seemed to have figured out how to reflect the same in their recruitment process.!
starts with a check-in with recruiter, then fit interview with one team member, then technical interview with two team members, then offer. Process took 1 - 2 months. recruiter is well accessible.
Long interview process (5 or 6 rounds) ending with an interview with someone from the Board.
Interviewers are looking to assess the candidate potential fit with Adyen, but interviews are very conversational.
First interview with HR was pretty normal. The second interview was with a team member who looked like he didn't care at all. There were no technical questions, all questions were related to my experience so it was difficult to fail. After that, I received a rejection without even a technical interview.
This position is always open and it has been open for years, doesn't seem like they're hiring at all.
