I had several phone interviews, one in-person interview, and was asked to complete a writing exercise. Before and after every interview, I spoke with a hiring manager who asked how my experience was going so far and provided positive feedback from the team who needed new recruits. There was extensive discussion of past client experience and exposure to the industry regulation process. Interviewers shared their experience and daily responsibilities. I met future peers and upper-level management in neighboring departments. The process was extensive, but it was not a high-pressure interview situation with trick questions or behavioral/consulting-style questions. Due to several departments being re-organized, my hiring was delayed, but I ultimately approved to join the team by upper-level management. Later on in the interview process, verification of prior income was required. I provided a W-2 along with details about competing offers above my old salary range.
