The interview process took about a month.
First, I sent in my resume and cover letter. A helpful extra step was that I got in touch with a current employee on the Shapr job search app, and he resubmitted my resume & cover letter to the HR department. I think an inside connection is always productive in separating your information from other applicants, and shows that you are interested in the job.
Then, I had two 30-minute phone interviews, an initial screening call with HR within 2 weeks of submitting my resume, followed by a second call with someone in the position's department the week after that. Both interviews were friendly with standard interview questions. After the first interview for this particular position, I had to submit 2 paragraph-long writing samples to demonstrate strong written communication skills.
Finally, a week after the second phone call, I had an in-person interview at the Lanham site which lasted about an hour. I interviewed on Monday morning and received my offer letter Friday afternoon of that week.
Everyone I spoke to was very polite and seemed to enjoy working with the company. I'd advise potential applicants to be very on top of email communication - I always sent a follow-up email thanking them for meeting with me and asking about next steps. I think everyone is very busy and sometimes working in different time zones, so I ended up having to send a second email after not hearing back for a few days about setting up an in-person interview. Don't be afraid to go after the position and show that you're very interested. Keep records of your email conversation in case something gets lost in communication. And check your other email folders - a few of their emails were going to my "updates" folder instead of my primary inbox.

Had a call with recruiter, then had to complete an email prompt, and finally had a virtual interview with a manager. It wasn't super hard. It was 5 basic questions that prompted the STAR method.

I applied online for this job. An HR representative in their head office in New York contacted me asking for a phone interview. The interview only lasted about 20 minutes and she was very friendly and helpful. She advised me she wanted to put me through to the next round which was a writing sample. She also said if I had any further questions to contact her and she would be happy to answer them. I completed the writing assessment and never heard anything back. I followed up a couple of weeks later and still nothing. I sent 3 emails and called and left 2 voicemails and received no response at all. Now almost 2 months later I got an automated email as a rejection. Completely unprofessional to ignore your applicants. At least let them know they did not make it to the next round.
