    Avantages

Some company leaders claim that they care about their employees but when you need them the most they are nowhere to be found. This is not the case at Nulogy. Everyone who works here genuinely cares about not just the work they are doing, but they people they are working with. The leaders here deeply care about their employees, that is undeniable.

    Inconvénients

I haven't had any profound negative experiences at Nulogy. Any company has some drama or frustrating experiences. Such is life.

J'ai travaillé chez Nulogy à temps plein

    Avantages

    Good benefits
    Very flexible hours
    Food/Drinks frequently provided
    New office
    Socially fun place to work

    Inconvénients

While Nulogy provides a very comfortable work environment and great perks/benefits, there is a lack of direction from leadership down and the inability to effect positive change. This results in employees not being as productive as we should be which results in a lot of down time, things moving very slowly, customers getting upset, not being innovative or pushing boundaries or working on exciting/challenging projects. It seems new hires are hired to do the job sold to them once joined, yet unable to actually do it once in the role. It is a very slow paced environment where you start to feel you are going a little stir crazy. Especially when you see gaps and areas that need improvement yet are unable to help towards improving because of a culture that is almost impossible to change. Professional and personal growth is very important and if a company doesn't allow employees to effect change or have a voice, they will not stay unfortunately.

While there is potential for Nulogy to really make some significant changes in leadership, it doesn't seem that is going to happen. I believe the org lost half of their leadership team over the past 6 months and other senior leaders because they were also not able effect change. If a company truly cares about their people and customers, and change is what is being asked, listening to your people is very important to ensure you are able to scale and retain your employees. Especially ones that are very talented at their craft.

Nulogy does need a HR leader as there is no one within the org who is experienced in this area to drive HR initiatives and help contributing towards improving larger issues. It has been a big hit on company moral with great leaders and employees leaving weekly and more disappointing to see nothing being done about it yet business as usual.

If you are looking for a comfortable job, easy going, slow paced, not much accountability or innovation happening, Nulogy is a good place to work.

If you are looking to grow as a professional, learn new things, challenge yourself and work with others who have actual outside of Nulogy work experience, then this isn't the place to be.

    Conseils à la direction

Listen to all of the feedback your employees give you. Especially once they resign. They are your most valuable asset. If you hire people to do the job at hand, let them. And if current leaders are your bottleneck, then it's best to come up with solutions to resolve those issues. Also, train and develop your team. It's very obvious that several employees after many years at the org do not feel comfortable working solo. Foster an environment of learning and development and hire actual leaders who are capable of doing this because currently there is not anymore.

    Avantages

Everything is really well organized - lots of great processes regardless of whether it is in building software or running a party-type event. Nulogy is very open about what's happening the company and very accommodating to any kind of special circumstances and needs.

    Inconvénients

The pace of software development can seem a bit slow sometimes, but this is largely a byproduct of having to support many large organizations that are very slow to allow change.

    Conseils à la direction

    Keep being awesome!

    Avantages

Genuinely a great place to work. Some highlights:
    - Cares about family and work-life balance
    - Great leadership and strong talent across the board
    - Lives by their values... truly rare to find in a fast-paced company

    Inconvénients

The company is going through typical growing pains and the workplace environment can feel unstructured and chaotic at times... but I've seen companies go through worse at this stage of growth, and I find that it's well-managed at Nulogy.

Je travaille chez Nulogy à plein temps (Plus d'un an)

    Avantages

You get to be yourself. No 'work self and home self' separation.

The people are great, and the work is good as well (if at times demanding).

Unlimited time off, and the management actually wants you to use it to feel balanced.

    Inconvénients

The reason there is unlimited time off is because when things are busy you can't always have the work-life balance or separation you might want.

I have heard pay is not competitive enough compared to other similar Toronto tech firms but no complaints personally.

    Conseils à la direction

Everyone appreciates how genuinely you are trying to be open and candid. However you can be prone to change attention/focus sometimes without notice, or forget to communicate in full before announcing new initiatives!

Je travaille chez Nulogy à plein temps

    Avantages

I have been working here for over a year, and I'm really happy at Nulogy. Some of the good things:

    - The Leadership team cares about employees a lot. You can see some thoughtful processes in place around personal development and team competency, plus re-investing in employees with education benefits and a strong health insurance plan with competitive benefits.

    - Increasing transparency, reflecting on feedback. There has been a noticeable trend to be candid and share the good and bad openly and create action plans to fix problems. Its obvious that no company is perfect, but I appreciate the honesty about HOW Nulogy plans to improve. Thats pretty rare at a company I would say.

    - Good people. Empathetic communicators, Leadership that takes the time to listen. Role models at all levels at the company. Really amazing people work here.

    - Exciting times. The company is in a growth phase, going after big fish. It's exciting to be a part of the buzz during this moment.

    Inconvénients

Nulogy has moved out of "organic growth" and the size of our team doubled last year. This comes with certain challenges like translating tribal knowledge into real processes that can replicate. During this scaling, there are bound to be things that go awry. As we grow its becoming a bit harder to know everyone's name. I really hope we don't lose the magic that makes Nulogy special, thats probably the biggest fear.

    Conseils à la direction

Continue to be honest about the good and the bad. Continue to invest in your people. Don't skimp out. Recognize the achievements of those who have been with Nulogy for a while. I have a lot of faith in you, ELT! Continue to build a company that people are proud to work at.

Also, invest in more solid career pathing for employees.

    - heavy emphasis on company culture and the executive leadership team is very committed to maintaining culture despite pretty rapid growth
    - morning breakfasts provided and lots of snacks
    - unlimited vacation

    - feedback from employees is really important to the management teams and is taken very seriously

    Inconvénients

    - compensation isn't as competitive as it could be and there's no clear structure around raises
    - benefits could be better
    - the collaboration can deter productivity - really heavy emphasis on collaboration which is great but can sometimes get frustrating when you're trying to get things done
