    Avantages

    Very friendly positive company
    Good for students looking to work in their holidays

    Inconvénients

    Time had to be booked off 6 weeks in advance

    Generally, everything is very positive but it would be better if staff knew about shift timings further in advance. When I worked there I found planning anything outside of work very difficult as six weeks notice had to be given and I'd know my sifts as little as a week before I worked them

    Avantages

    Given the opportunity to progress at a young age and was mentored by excellent managers who care. The next step allows me to attend a catering academy paid for by J.D Wetherspoon.

    Inconvénients

    Often made to work long and unsociable hours sometimes starting at 4am! Some employees have bad attitudes which brings morale down leading to standards slipping.

    Listen to other managers advice and use feedback effectively. Always maintain a good positive attitude as your attitude will effect you whole teams.

    Not really advice but a question, I don't really want to carry on with my training and would like to resign as I'm not enjoying it, but I'm not sure if I have to complete my training fully or if I can go and speak to the manager about resigning. Is this different in evey pub or do I have to complete the training before resigning?

    Late finishes on closes
    Very low pay for the jobs you are expected to do. especially U21s
    Applied for a 16 hour contract (advertised on website) and got an email a couple of month later saying I was on a 4 hour
    Endless probation. Contract said 3 months but got told after 7 months that I was still was on probation. Was told in a passing comment 10 months after my start date that I was off probation
    No on the job training whatsoever. Given till key on first shift and expected to work on my own as ' I seemed to know what I was doing'
    Too many managers or people who thought they were managers
    Would get picked up on the smallest things whereas people who would do a lesser job would get praised for it

    Give staff on the job training rather than just a load of videos and quizzes you can resit as many times as you want and review managers training every now and again

    Actually treat your staff with some respect. If someone is ill don’t pester them with phone calls asking what’s wrong with them. If someone needs time off, give it to them and actually remember that people have a life outside of work. Oh and actually pay us for all the cleaning we have to do at the end of the night.
