Last week at our annual partner meeting in Boston, we had the privilege of spending time with students from Year Up United – an organization doing incredible work to equip young adults with the skills, experiences, and support they need to launch meaningful careers. We welcomed Year Up United students for a hands-on career readiness session, where our partner team at ghSMART shared practical advice and insights in small group conversations. Topics included resume building, interview preparation, making the most of internships, and navigating corporate environments. Their energy and ambition were contagious – a powerful reminder that the next generation of leaders is ready to make an impact. We also shared insights from our Boundary Breakers research, which highlights C-suite leaders who came from humble beginnings and defied the odds. These stories sparked meaningful conversations with Year Up students, whose resilience and drive reflect similar themes. Year Up’s mission to close the Opportunity Divide struck a powerful chord, reminding us what’s possible when potential is recognized and opportunity is accessible. This was more than just a meeting – it was a moment of mutual learning, encouragement, and impact. We’re grateful to Year Up United for partnering with us and to every student who showed up with questions, courage, and drive.
