New achievement unlocked! 🔓 The Port of Manaus in Brazil has become increasingly challenging to reach over the past year as a result of reduced water levels and draft limitations. While many businesses throughout the market have begun to avoid the port and look for alternatives, our South American ZIMmers chose to take on the challenge when a valued customer approached with a request to ship to Manaus 💪 They specially berthed a small vessel in Houston to avoid these obstacles, which made its way quickly and efficiently to Manaus as part of a rapid operation that was completed in a couple of weeks. That’s what we call agility ✔️
0% carbon, 100% togetherness 😉 ZIM North China recently had the honor of visiting Tianjin Port, the world’s first zero-carbon terminal. To celebrate this strong partnership, ZIM held its annual customer appreciation dinner in Tianjin, which was joined by local ZIMmers and customers. The event provided a fantastic opportunity to form new sustainable business opportunities, while shining a light on new routes and leading digital services. “With these long-term strong partnerships, ZIM’s dedicated business and services continue to grow and provide wider and more reliable services for our customers in the Asia Pacific trade," stated Charlie Sun, Asia’s Regional Sales Director.
An initiative worth chairing 🪑 ZIM Israel recently surprised its employees with new ergonomic chairs for the new year! As one person's trash is another person's treasure, it was clear the old ones should be put to good use, rather than thrown out 💡 A number of organizations that share our values of togetherness and sustainability were happy to receive the chairs as donations from ZIM, including HaGal Sheli, Lema'an Foundation, Eshkolot School in Binyamina, and the Israel Parkinson Organization. We are honored to spread the Z-factor's light to such incredible organizations that support those in need.
Make way, USA! We recently celebrated ZIM USA's maiden voyage to Shanghai alongside honorary guests, employees, and customers. “As the industry gears up for change, ZIM will always work towards developing professional and reliable services to our local and global customers," shared Hua Xiangqian, President of ZIM China, during the emotional event. Other attendees included Charlie Sun, Asia Regional Sales Director, and Hani Kalinski, EVP Transpacific Trade, who spoke about ZIM's can-do approach through all endeavors, as well as the importance and centrality of sustainability and togetherness.
Appetizers and aspirations 🥂 After much anticipation, ZIM North China recently had the opportunity to host its annual customer appreciation dinner in Dalian, with ZIM China representatives including Hua Xiangqian, President of ZIM China, Samuel Li, CFO, Maggie Wang, ZIM Dalian General Manager, as well as many honored customers and guests, to celebrate many strong partnerships and potential cooperations. “ZIM has always put its customers first. With strategic partnerships made through the years, ZIM will continue to develop its market in Dalian, which serves as the main hub in Northeast Asia, while making sure to always provide stable and reliable services to its local customers," shared Hua Xiangqian. We look forward to yet another productive year of smooth sailing!

Supporting mutual goals 🤝 ZIM Canada recently had the privilege of presenting a donation to the Clear Seas Centre for Responsible Marine Shipping, which does outstanding work on safety, sustainability, and inclusivity. In addition to conducting compelling research on a variety of marine issues, they work collaboratively with indigenous communities in Canada and empower them by providing internships and opportunities for marine-related research that benefit their communities.
