Meet John Struna, who joined Vetsource in 2022 as a sales development representative and was recently promoted to account manager. John’s advice for anyone considering a career move is to “listen to your inner voice and believe in yourself. This month’s associate spotlight is Yvette Guerrero, training specialist, from Portland, Oregon. Yvette has been with Vetsource for nearly four years and is responsible for onboarding and training all external hires for the call center. Her work ensures they are set up for success on the Vetsource team! We’re currently celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and Yvette has some advice specifically for young Hispanic/Latin folks looking to establish their careers: “I would encourage young Hispanic and Latin individuals to pursue positions they might initially feel are beyond their reach. It’s crucial not to hold yourself back due to self-imposed limitations or because you don’t see others like you in those roles. But if we were to step out of our comfort zones and seize these opportunities, we would not only advance our careers but also pave the way for future generations.” We feature associate spotlights to highlight the diverse backgrounds of our team and why they enjoy working at Vetsource.
Our company ARGs (associate resource groups) are designed to help foster an inclusive culture and increase professional development. One of our ARGs, BLAST, Black and Latino Action Society, is dedicated to furthering the advancement of black and brown associates at Vetsource. BLAST meets to discuss recent accomplishments, ongoing challenges, and provide mentorship. BLAST has also spent time with our CEO and the Head of DEI at Regeneron to have more conversations about goals. We're proud of our associates for their work in our ARGs and for creating spaces within Vetsource where everyone can thrive.

Since joining our Sandy pharmacy location, she’s earned her certification, moved into a leadership role, and transitioned to the facilities team. Most recently, Nicole was promoted to administrative assistant II! Nicole’s advice for anyone considering a career move is to talk to as many people as you can and get to know some leaders. She highly recommends being proactive in initiating conversations so that you can be supported by a number of people. In her new role as an administrative assistant, she’s looking forward to the flexibility that remote work brings and being able to meet new people across the company. This month's spotlight is Priya Gokhale, Sr. Director of Technical Program & Project Management, based in Portland, OR. Priya has been with Vetsource for over three years, and she's extremely proud of her team's accomplishments. Together, they support major cross-functional projects in Vetsource, making an impact across the industry. Priya initially applied to Vetsource because it was a natural transition for her — she already knew Vetsource from her previous experience in the pet health field. She says the number one reason why she continues her career at Vetsource is the people. Although this is her first remote role, she feels connected to her team and the company. Priya shares how her teammates are friendly, embody our values, and are driven towards a common goal. This month’s employee spotlight is Natalie Patten! Natalie works as a pharmacist in charge of our Northlake, TX distribution center. Her family recently welcomed a new addition — a 1-year-old pitbull and blue lacy mix named Luna. Natalie recently joined the Vetsource team in January 2024. In her role, she is a people leader and manages policies and procedures at our pharmacy distribution center ensuring pet owners receive their prescription needs swiftly and accurately. She says her favorite part about working at Vetsource is, “Everything so far! I really like the culture and collaboration, how strategic our operations are and how supportive everyone is. I love my work-life balance — I have 3 kids, love salsa dancing, and refurbishing furniture — and having the space to talk about my life here at Vetsource." PACE meets every other month to share accomplishments, challenges, and potential changes that could continue to support caregiving employees. PACE has also made donations to charities and aims to continue contributing to the community. We're proud of our employees for their work in our ERGs and for creating spaces within Vetsource where everyone can thrive.

Meet Amy Coombes, who has been part of the Vetsource team for 15 years and was our first customer service representative. Since joining the team, she’s transitioned to the triage, catalog, purchasing, and regulatory teams. Most recently, Amy was promoted to senior compliance specialist! Amy’s advice for anyone considering a career move is to ask questions, get to know others, request job shadows, and embrace change. With the help of her supportive leader, Amy was able to pick up the responsibility and knowledge needed for her new position. She’s excited to continue learning about compliance, work with a wider range of teams, and take on new challenges. Her new role also makes her eligible for certifications and opens up even more career paths. All of us at Vetsource are looking forward to seeing where Amy’s journey takes her!
Our March employee spotlight is Amber Hubbard! Amber works as a marketing operations manager on our Marketing team. She lives in Vancouver, Washington with her 10-month-old Sheltie, Dot. Amber has been with Vetsource for over a year. In her role, she manages and supports a team of email developers. Together, they send out emails for our email marketing program, PetMail. Amber constantly works hard to ensure her team has what they need to achieve success. She says her favorite part about working at Vetsource is, “The people and the culture! The company actually lives out its core values.
