As humanity expands its reach throughout the solar system, Maxar continues to invest in new technologies and innovation that will drive us forward. At the beginning of the space race of the 1960s, Maxar was a commercial partner on the pioneering Apollo program, and now has been building reliable spacecraft for more than six decades. Our partnership with NASA runs deep, and we continue to progress on three missions that will advance humanity’s study of the universe.

It’s exciting to be part of the Colorado commercial space race that will get the U.S. back on the Moon. Our part? We’re building the power and propulsion element, the foundational element of the Gateway, providing power, maneuvering, attitude control and communications systems for the lunar orbiting outpost. Gateway is a cornerstone of NASA’s Artemis program, which aims to land the first women and first person of color on the moon and enable future crewed missions to Mars.
“AAPI Heritage Month is a time for me to reflect on my experiences and my family's journey to America as refugees, as well as a time to learn about the culture and history of other AAPI groups. My ethnicity is Iu Mien. Most people have never heard of it and are unaware of our place within U.S. history, so I feel compelled to share my culture with others. It is important to acknowledge how vast the Asian Pacific diaspora is – each with its own language, food, and customs. There is so much diversity within the AAPI community, and that is what makes America beautiful.” – Lai Saechao, Maxar AAPI Employee Resource Group Co-lead Learn more about how we support and celebrate an increasingly diverse workforce.
