In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s commitment to service, UNFI associates engaged in a company-wide clothing drive on MLK Day of Service. With a commitment to building communities that are better for all, UNFI associates across the nation connected with their local community organizations and donated over 2,400 clothing items! UNFI completed its first comprehensive product and solution regional selling show, reinforcing the Company’s customer and supplier-focused strategy. The two-day event brought together over 5,500 attendees and featured the company's complete range of natural, conventional, fresh, and organic products and total store solutions supporting the Western region customers. In addition, the show featured UNFI’s Professional Services, which is focused on driving growth and efficiency for retailers. “We are excited to showcase our wall-to-wall representation of natural, organic, fresh, and conventional products,” said Steve Dietz, UNFI’s Chief Customer Officer. “We’re helping our suppliers expand their product reach while helping our retailers access more of the right products for their markets, at competitive prices. Our suppliers and products span from top-selling national brands to local one-of-a-kind innovators, and are ready to connect with our retailers, whether single store operators, small local chains, larger regional chains, or national accounts. Our professional services team and vendors are on-site as well, to help retailers save money.”
Last week, UNFI announced its updated 2024 selling show schedule. As part of UNFI’s mission to help customers and suppliers win in the marketplace, all UNFI selling shows will now showcase the full spectrum of products and services that better aligns with customer buying behavior, instead of focusing shows exclusively on natural and organic or conventional products. These new shows will support both the natural and conventional suppliers as well as all grocery retail customer channels and positioning. In addition to the 2024 selling show strategy and schedule, UNFI has revealed the inaugural Circle of Excellence (“COE”) awards to recognize the outstanding growth and impact of UNFI customers and suppliers. The award ceremony will take place in 2024 and honor customer winners in local independent, regional chain, and national account categories and suppliers in emerging and established categories.
