Now in its third year, SOLV Energy's PowerUp! Renewable Energy scholarship calls on high school seniors to explore opportunities available in renewable energy industries. To apply, students are asked to consider how they can apply their future degree or certification in a career related to clean energy, sustainability and the environment. SOLV Energy was named the O&M partner by DESRI on two projects totaling 330 MWac of solar and 260 MWh of battery storage. The addition of Carne, a 130 MWac solar and 260 MWh storage project in Deming, New Mexico and Crossroads, a 200 MWac solar project in Veedersburg, Indiana, to SOLV’s portfolio underscores our valuable partnership with DESRI across more than 3 GWac of capacity under O&M. SOLV Energy is also providing PV solar and high-voltage EPC services on Carne. Carne will create approximately 300 construction jobs and is anticipated to generate enough clean energy to power approximately 38,000 homes each year.

Kurt has been a valued member of our operational team for nearly a decade, with a proven track record of leading field operations with safety and quality at the forefront. In this position, Kurt will ensure consistency of field operations across regions as SOLV expands nationwide to support coast-to-coast delivery of all EPC services, plus standalone BESS and HV facilities. His background in field operations will guide close collaboration through the EPC process to drive efficiency and innovation across all project stages. Over the next decade, the U.S. must dramatically ramp up standalone energy storage and solar + storage installations to achieve our economic and climate goals. That’s why the Solar Energy Industries Association is unveiling an ambitious storage target for 2030 - to reach 700GWh total of installed battery capacity across all market segments, and 10 million distributed storage installations. Vikings Solar-plus-Storage, one of the first utility-scale solar peaker plants in the U.S., couples 137 MWac of solar with 150 MW/600 MWh of battery energy storage to provide reliable and affordable clean energy during peak demand. This week, the Solar Energy Industries Association unveiled an ambitious energy hashtag#storage goal for 2030: To reach 700GWh total of installed battery capacity across all market segments, along with 10 million distributed storage installations. We look forward to continued work with Arevon and our industry partners to build and operate projects like Vikings - providing balance to the grid, supporting voltage, and smoothing out power delivery in high-renewable scenarios.
