It's Graduation Time! We are so proud to present our first ever Cohort of PropertyGuru Group Prodi-G Intern graduates. Out of 2500 applicants, we invited 35 students from across 10 countries, 26 schools to join us in a fun-filled summer of international collaboration and real-life learning. Placed across all areas of the business in our 4 consumer markets, our goal was to build a programme that would give our interns a truly meaningful headstart in their careers - working on real-world business challenges that would benefit from their diversity of thought, fresh perspectives and bold ambition. The result? Accelerated value creation and business impact through data and GenAI experiments, next-generation innovation and creativity, and a whole lot of TikTok moments created by a digitally native Cohort who built their own cross-functional, cross-border community from day 1. This Cohort reminded us that Leadership comes in many forms. We are honoured they spent their summer with us and proud to call them Gurus. We're just past midway through our Prodi-G Intern programme at PropertyGuru Group and are thrilled to have the opportunity to spotlight a few of SE Asia’s ambitious rising star talents in the digital and technology sector. Today please meet Inigo D., aka “Zoey”. Whether it’s journalism, marketing or the creative arts (photography; videography; web and app UX design), Zoey is a master storyteller who graduated from Northumbria University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with Public Relations in 2022. Not one to be held back by a global pandemic, Zoey took a year out after online classes to gain the full British experience, travelling around and absorbing the multi-cultural vibes of some of the UK’s biggest cities, where his knack for languages paid off as he got to practice Chinese, Malay, Tamil and Arabic! In Zoey’s spare time, he also loves to explore the world through cuisine, with signature fan favourites being Filipino Pork Adobo, Kimchi Carbonara, Pork and Chive Dumplings YUM! Zoey’s internship here is within PropertyGuru Group’s corporate communications team alongside Paolo Mangahas and Sheena Chopra where the team are busy launching our new HR system Workday and intranet GuruHome. Today please meet Jing Wen who is graduating this Autumn from the University of London with first class honours grades for Programming for Data Science and Business Analytics. Jing Wen's internship here is working with Dr. Nai Jia Lee, our Real Estate Futurist, analysing development sites and providing stakeholders with essential insights and intelligence. Jing Wen is driven by curiosity, a self-confessed problem-solver who can't resist analysing data and dissecting how things could be better. If you're an avid traveler (Shyn Yee!!), she can tell you that Saturdays are when flights are least likely to be delayed, and midweek 6pm+ flights are the most likely. Previously while at school, Jing Wen organised events for the Careers Office, participated in hackathons with the Innovation Networking Society, and collaborated on projects in the Data Analytics Club. She's also passionate about community building volunteering at events like Singapore Computer Society's technology adoption efforts, National Day Parade, and Chingay. First up, it’s Quang Nguyen, aka “August”. August graduated with a BA from the Foreign Trade University in HCMC, Vietnam specialising in international administration, and is currently finalising his MBA at Singapore Management University. He’s the Founder of the tech blog 'creat-io' and an investment portfolio manager in his spare time. Working in our FinTech business alongside Alexander Zonneveld and Janice Lim, August’s combined skills in tech, data and analytics are focused on assessing and improving the effectiveness of our sales processes as we help our customers with critical home financing information to help them achieve their aspirations to be home owners. We recently published our inaugural Sustainability Report and had the pleasure of engaging media from Malaysia and Singapore to launch Gurus For Good, our sustainability strategy and the report. Gurus For Good is a tangible manifestation of our Group’s vision whereby we power communities to live, work and thrive in tomorrow’s cities. The session was hosted by Chief Marketing Officer, Disha Goenka, Head of Sustainability, Cecile Corda and Head of Real Estate Intelligence, Nai Jia Lee, as they deep dived into the report and shared about the three pillars that the strategy is built on – Sustainable Living, Thriving Communities and Responsible Business. The session resulted in many interesting conversations and provided the attendees with insights into how Gurus For Good came about, our motivations and way forward. From our early steps of introspection towards our climate impact, to being an employee-first organisation with our forward-looking DEI policies. From creating an accessible and bias free marketplace to leveraging data intelligence to help build thriving cities. The inaugural report is a testament to PropertyGuru Group's efforts and commitment in positively impacting the various communities we interact with, a responsibility we take very seriously.
